Head of Design
Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator
When I became Head of Design at Clara, my first task was to create the actual branding and design the website. We had to work fast on this, so we could launch the app as quickly as possible. I iterated on dozens of logo possibilities on a whiteboard, and we settled on an interlocking venn diagram, representing the intersection of patients nad providers.
When designing Clara’s homepage, the top priority was highlighting search - the company’s core business goal and primary call to action - to help users find clinical trials and guide them through the process. I also emphasized that trials are an approachable treatment option and that Clara offers ongoing support. The secondary call to action was contact: for users unable to find trials on their own, direct outreach enabled us to assist enrollment more cost-effectively. Prominently placed contact options encouraged engagement, allowed us to answer questions, and provided valuable user data to inform future product iterations.
In addition, I designed numerous infographics to share on social media and printed for events. In health care, knowledge and understanding are everything; it can mean the difference between an effective treatment, evidence-based research, and the ability to communicate clearly. I designed all of our infographics with streamlined data, a clear and presentable aesthetic, and evidence-based information that is accessible to everyone.
